Helvetica: Friend or foe?

It is debatable whether or not Helvetica is the best, most readable font in the world. It is everywhere in our daily lives. Are you sick of it, or do you want to see more?

The image above represents all things Helvetica from Ultra light to Black. This poster of Helvetica is saved as a JPEG because of its continuous tone throughout. It is neither transparent or line art.

With strong Swiss origins, Helvetica is seen all over the world. Brought to you famously by Josef Muller-Brockmann in several of his pieces, it is one of the most recognizable typefaces of all time. Have a mac? It is especially all around your world. Do you like it or hate it? I seem to love it.

I believe Helvetica gives a piece a modern edge, when the typeface seems to be nothing new at all! When it’s used in Ultra Light, it makes me want to know more. When I see it in Heavy, I know whatever is being represented must be a powerful statement. Helvetica is beautiful in all forms, I feel like you just need to know when and how to use it!
